Pocket Money Polishes: I Put A Spell On You!

Sunday 30 June 2013

I put a spell on you... didn't it just! I love this polish :) This is the last in my little PMP collection, I am so happy with all four of my purchases from Pocket Money Polishes! Thanks so much for getting me in on the action Charlie! If you haven't already checked out the store do so now using the link above. I just wanted a quick and simple mani today because the weather is soooo gorgeous I had to get outside!!! :) I put a spell on you is ideal for this, it's so packed full of holo glitter, orange hexes, green stars and the odd purple heart. Love the combination and would look great over so many colours. I chose to pair it with a grey, I love grey nails and this glitter polish just went perfectly! I did two coats of the grey and then two coats of the sparkly goodness. That's it, ten minute job and looks fantastic! I just love the candy shine of these PMP polishes, never needed a topcoat!

Pocket Money Polishes: My Girl!

As promised, a little late in the evening, the first of my two Glitter Babies 1 Collection polishes from Pocket Money Polishes... My Girl! I fell in love with this polish as soon as I saw it and after using it for the first time today, I think I need to buy a second bottle for my stash, it's so pretty and versatile! It's a mix of pink and grey hexes with a fine holo glitter in a clear base... I matched it up with a couple of gelly's, blue and lilac; those took two thick coats to be fully opaque. I then did two coats of the My Girl and finished off with a couple of diamante and enamel bows. I wanted something cute and dainty to compliment the star of the show, looked lovely in today's sunshine!

Barry M - Blueberry, Prickly Pear, PMP - My Girl, Allura Nail Charms (Poundland).

New!!! Pocket Money Polishes: Firework!

Thursday 27 June 2013

Sooooo today I have my other new Glitter Babies 2 Collection polish, Firework, from Pocket Money Polishes to show you... Make sure you support British Indies and head on over to the store, this collection will be available to order on the 1st July!!! I'm still keeping mine in the cute little hessian bags they arrived in, it's just such a nice touch with these daintly little bottles! I have been a little under the weather with my stupid dodgy shoulder for the last couple of days and wasn't sure what I was planning to do, I was feeling so blah I decided to bring my better half in on the action lol :) He's such a sweetie and actually seemed to enjoy his creative eye being consulted and said I could credit him if I wanted to heehee ;) I love him!

We have two coats of Greenberry for the base which I love. I then added two coats of the Firework over the four fingers; and finally some coordinating blue and purple gems on the thumb, it specifically had to be a skewed line and not a straight one, but towards one side so tah dah!!!...

PMP - Firework, Barry M - Greenberry, Cheeky Nail Art Rhinestones.

I have two more gorgeous polishes to show you from the Glitter Babies 1 Collection by  Charlie at Pocket Money Polishes... Make sure you keep an eye out for them over the weekend or check out the store now! :)

NEW!!! Pocket Money Polishes: Summertime!

Monday 24 June 2013

Oooh I told you this would be an exciting week! Today (it is the boy and mine's anniversary <3 and) I bring you a fabulous BRITISH indie polish!!! Make sure you check out Pocket Money Polishes shop and  take a peek at the Glitter Babies' Collections! Summertime is from the new Summer Glitter Babies Collection and available from 1st July 2013 along with three other gorgeous glitter polishes! I will be bringing you a mani using 'Firework' from this same collection ASAP! The polishes are named after songs which is a touch I rather like, I also love the fact that they arrive in cute little hessian bags; nice work Charlie! :)

Summertime is a lush mix of small green, yellow and silver hexes with the odd silver heart for good measure. I adoooore it... for me it didn't just say summertime, it said tropical! Sooo I paired it with my new Barry M Limited Edition Pink, then took inspiration from the lid to add a quirky little twist to the mani.I started with three coats of the pink, it's fairly sheer and also matte, a lot like the Models Own Ice Neon finishes. I painted the ring finger with two coats of white, then stamped a matching animal print with a black. I finished off with two coats of PMP Summertime on the pink nails. The hexes were spread as I would expect throughout and the candy shine finish is just stunning! LOVE this polish and this mani, even if I do say so myself lol!

Avon - Licorice, Barry M - Limited Edition Pink, Boots Natural Collection - Nail Tip Whitener, Cheeky Plate 2 from the Vibrant Collection.

Lane Tattoo Design...

Sunday 23 June 2013

This is the last mani in my mini series of tattoo word designs... and bringing up the rear... is me lol! Lucky for me my surname begins with L and is four letters long ;) So Lane it is. It was the turn of the blue textured polish from Barry M, this one required only two coats as opposed to three. Really love the shade of this one! You will know the routine by now; drew on the letters using the awesome Barry M nail art pen, filled in with a dark blue using a striper brush and then added the detail to the thumb. This time a pretty pink bow! So that's it, the end... More exciting things to come in the week though!!

Barry M - Atlantic Road, Blue Grape, Black Nail Art Pen, Angled Striper Brush, Allura Bow Decorations (Poundland).

Luck Tattoo Design...

Thursday 20 June 2013

I decided I would stick with the L theme I seem to have going and today's word is Luck, something we all need a smidge of from time to time :) and something I've been blessed quite readily with lately... I paired luck with green, for some reason the two seem to go hand in hand?! Again it was three coats of the textured polish and then I used the black nail art pen to draw on the lettering and the horseshoe outline. Next I filled in the lettering with the deep blue using a striper brush, and the horseshoe with the silver nail art pen. I finished off by using the black pen again to add the dots to the horseshoe... Wishing Luck to all you lovely people! Just one more mani to go in my mini series!

Barry M - Ridley Road, Blue Grape, Black & Silver Nail Art Pens, Avon Dual Nail Tool.

Life Tattoo Design...

Wednesday 19 June 2013

After sooo many lovely comments online and from everyone I met wearing the Love tattoo mani... I've decided to do a series of this style mani with each of the Barry M texture polishes; today Life! I'm not usually a fan of yellow polish, though I love pale yellow clothes, they suit my skin tone. So I thought I'd give this one a try, it also has an added shimmery sparkle to it, although it was more obvious in the bottle than on the nail. This one, like the pink, was a three coat job. I followed it up by using the nail art pen to draw on the lettering and painted in the pink parts with a striper brush. On the thumb I added a flower and diamante sticker, to which I added a matching pink dot in the centre of the smaller bloom.  That's it! I can't stress enough how cool these pens are, I'm excited to try a bazillion more designs with them... Make nail art so easy! :)

Look out for Luck tomorrow ;)

Lush Lacquer Nail Mail!!!

Tuesday 18 June 2013

Oooh happiness is raining down on me today as the postie delivered my nail mail from Llarowe!! I have eagerly anticipated the arrival of my first Lush Lacquer's since I saw them depart L.A. on the 9th via USPS tracking lol... I have got it sooo bad for polish! I was not disappointed though, I am in fact, in love :) They are so... well... LUSH! I can see my next order being placed in no time, I almost filled my basket with Hare Polish today... Agghh!

First off is simply the Neon Lights, three coats and finished off with a topcoat. It's sings summer!

Lush Lacquer - Neon Lights, Color Club - Clear Topcoat.

Next I used the two coats of the Clowning Around; first over a lilac and then over a mint green (also two coats). I love this polish, because of the clear base you can make any colour polish into an indie with it! So versatile :) I am a verrrry happy polish addict lolol!

Love Tattoo Design...

Sunday 16 June 2013

I've seen quite a few of these sort of tattoo designs going on in nails at the moment; words, swallows and hearts etc... I LOVE tattoo's! I don't have any, because I'm too fickle for permanent art lol... I draw them often and buy magazines to ogle the pretties in order to make up for this hahaha. So to bring them to my nails, fab alternative!!

I went for the word love as I've had a really stressful week (hence the lack of posts, sorry guys) but love has cured all this weekend :) There are a fair few designs of this word knocking about but this was my take on it... I started with two coats of the Barry M Textured Polish in pink; once dry I used their awesome nail art pens to freehand the lettering and heart. I then used a small flat brush to add the hot pink highlights to those letters and finished the look off with a diamante at the recommendation of my other half after thrusting my hand under his nose demanding, "it needs something more, what is it?" lol, bless him for putting up with me and my addiction!

Barry M - Kingsland Road, Shocking Pink, Black Nail Art Pen, BYS - Diamantes, Small Flat Brush.

I love this mani, pardon the pun, but I don't think the picture does the look justice, it's a recurring issue at the moment... I'm now thinking of investing in a new camera... any suggestions of reasonably priced (£100ish) options from fellow nail art snappers out there?

Barry M: Sequins Collection!

Tuesday 11 June 2013

Ok.... I totally have a confession to make... I thought I was going to HATE these polishes after seeing all the swatches and I wouldn't have actually bought them... (sorry Bazza)... so good job I won them because actually I LIKE them! I can't believe it LOL! They aren't a pleasure to apply I must admit, it's as though you have poured a load of coarse sugar into your polish and on the first coat they look most odd... but by the second coat (for which a sort of dabbing technique seemed best effective) they look a lot like icing, well the pink and white ones anyway; the black reminded me of coal or oil with gold nuggets in, this one was my favourite! They feel rough like concrete to the touch though, not the softer bumpiness you get with the Barry M Textured polish. With the white and pink I added a topcoat to smooth the finish and fix my bows in place, I liked the smoother texture and shine it gave, a lot like icing! :)

Barry M: New Gelly's and Confetti's!!!

Monday 10 June 2013

Ooooh... I've been playing with my competition goodies over the last few days... I can well and truly say I am sold on Elemis skincare! Lush products! So today I have for you the Gelly's and Confetti's! I discovered that they all went together in one way or another so that's exactly how I wore them. One gelly with one confetti over the top... That's all ten polishes in five mani's and brought to you on one day...!

I absolutely loved these polishes, the colours are WOW, they went on beautifully and dried in no time... But then I already knew that being a Bazza fan waaaaay before this wee blog arrived on the interwebs! The Blue Grape, Key Lime and Mango needed two coats, Passion Fruit and Guava just one. All of the confetti's were two coats as I like the pattern quite busy... So here goes!.. The first two are by far my faves, both gelly and confetti, what about you??

Barry M - Bubblegum Confetti, Blue Grape Gelly.

Barry M - Sour Apple Confetti, Guava Gelly.

Barry M - Liquorice Confetti, Passion Fruit Gelly.

Barry M - Marshmallow Confetti, Key Lime Gelly.

Barry M - Dolly Mixture Confetti, Mango Gelly.

I apologise if my swatches aren't really up to scratch, never been my forte! ;)
