31 Day Challenge 2015: Glitter Base

Saturday 10 January 2015

Hi folks!
Back to happier territory for me today, glitter - I lurrrve glitter! I'm not really a girly girl but I am a magpie when it comes to shiny, sparkly things... I actually went a step further than just glitter and put the glitter over a holo base, you can never be too shiny right?! I've been wanting to to this black edged kind of nail art for ages but thought I'd be sure to make a mess of it; actually with the right tools it wasn't so bad at all!

This started with two coats of the silver holo, coverage was really good. I then topped it with two coats of one of my favourite glitters in my collection, it's a real old skool jobby from Sally Hansen. Once that was fully dry I used the striper brush end of a black nail art pen from Models Own to add the edging in four easy swoops per nail. I finished off with a loose floral stamp on three of the nails and topcoated.

Love this pattern within edging thaaang, I think I'll be trying this look with some lovely pastel colours for spring! I'm now off to enjoy a night in with my bestie - eating junk food and watching The Voice, and then I'll be doing her nails :)
